Where was the best view of Endeavour in LA? We think it was Compressed Gas Systems!
Los Angeles has its disadvantages: traffic, smog, and more traffic. Actually, that’s about all I can come up with.
It turns out that LA is a pretty great place, especially considering the business we’re in and the aerospace history that surrounds us. It’s no wonder why it was chosen as a final resting place for the space shuttle Endeavour. When NASA paraded Endeavour across the Southland on September 21, the crew at Compressed Gas Systems decided to take a lunch break on our shop roof (like we really needed an excuse) and take in the sight of the 747 shuttle hauler landing at LAX with its prized cargo for the last time.
What we didn’t know is that they were going to fake a landing on runway 24R – the one that lines up perfectly with our street.
