For those of you that operate Bell Helicopters, you might be familiar with the ongoing issues regarding corrosion of the fire extinguisher discharge heads and related components due to wash fluid entering the extinguisher discharge lines. Bell has just released an Alert Service Bulletin ASB 412-12-152 regarding the inspection of the fire extinguisher housing assembly, which can cause a serious safety concern if left unchecked.

Compressed Gas Systems has the capability to inspect and repair affected fire bottles in accordance with this ASB at a fraction of the price of the OEM.

From our experience, the corrosion can affect much more than the housings reported in this ASB and can be difficult to inspect. We suggest disassembling and inspecting the outlet assemblies in order to ascertain if damage has occurred. I assure you, the cost is much less than you think!
